Fabrication
The process used for sheet metal fabrication has changed dramatically in the
last few years. Customer specifications can now be sent electronically, and
the latest equipment using digital scanners and lasers speeds up production.
Bar code scanning is used from programming to packaging to ensure the
customer's parts are delivered on time.
PUNCHING
Turret presses and lasers are used to punch, cut, and separate the parts
from the sheets. These machines are highly accurate, fast, and can be re-programmed whenever
a part may be revised. This allows us to produce small or large quantities
efficiently usually without any tooling costs.
BENDING
Press brakes are used to bend parts to meet the shape and dimensions shown
on the drawings. These machines are very precise and consistent in
operation. Some machines are grouped with robots to operate as "Robotic
Forming Cells".
WELDING
The complicated assemblies designed today sometimes require components to be
welded together to produce a complete unit. Welding of metal is difficult
and must be done using the correct equipment, technique, and supplies.
Training is provided continually to ensure the operators produce consistent
accurate weldments. Robotic Welding Cells are also used to maintain strong
accurate weldments on high quantity runs.
HARDWARE
In recent years, hardware installation has become more popular with sheet
metal fabrication. Engineers can design parts with threaded nuts, studs, and
stand-offs installed in place. A variety of other hardware items are also
available. Hardware installation provides a more complete unit, and helps
reduce assembly time of the final product.
INSPECTION
Quality is a very important part of the fabrication process. T/J Fabricators
Inc. is a cerified ISO 9001 company. This requires that a strict
inspection procedure be followed throughout production. First piece
inspection is done for each step of production, and certificates of
compliance are available when requested.
FINISHING
When specified, T/J Fabricators Inc. will provide plating, painting, and
silk-screen or pad printing to make completely finished parts. Subassembly
or final assembly of entire units is available when desired.
SHIPMENTS
Our tracking system allows us to deliver your order at the time most
beneficial to your company. When necessary, orders can be shipped
immediately upon completion. Otherwise, delivery of product is made when
scheduled as stated on your purchase order. Ample storage space is available
to allow blanket orders to be utilized.
